When I moved into the apartment I'm currently living in, it was just a lease takeover. I would not have signed a year lease with this company after I read the lease. Unlike most people, I read the papers people give me to sign. I didn't have a choice with this one. But it was a heck of a deal so I couldn't pass it up. Lesson learned. I will not rent with them again. If you are 1 day late on your rent, you have to pay 10% of your rent. That's $65 for being 1 day late. Ridiculous!!! A lot of people don't get paid until the 5th, what would they do?? So just for future reference of anybody in Whatcom County, do not rent with Landmark!
But, since I did this lease takeover, I'm making money. I didn't have to pay the people the deposit because they wanted to stay until July 4th. I was fine with that because I was living with my mom until I found a place. So I paid for them to live here for 4 days and for electricity for 4 days and I get to keep the $650 minus whatever Landmark takes out for cleaning. But that might be where they get me. I'm not sure what it looked like before they moved in.. So hopefully I at least get a couple hundred back.. I will get half of my pet deposit back for sure. So there's $300. So expensive for a 4 lb dog. Good Golly! We'll see...
