Well today I have to go grocery shopping which I'm not too fond of but, you gotta do what you gotta do. Especially when I have no food. I personally like to go to Fred Meyer because it's cheaper than Haggen. BUT I like to go to Haggen because there's one in Ferndale. You see, in Bellingham back in August 2013, they started a plastic bag ban so people would start bringing their own re usable bags. P.S. They still don't! But now they don't offer plastic. The choices are:
- bring your own bag
- carry everything in your arms like a thief
- or pay 5 cents for a paper bag
Can I just mention that when we had the choice of paper if plastic before, we never had to pay 5 cents...
I prefer plastic bags because they are way more re usable than paper bags. What if you have a leaky water bottle? Paper will not do anything about that. Plus paper is so bulky.. Plastic bags store so much easier!
So Fred Meyer is cheaper but even the paper bags suck because they don't have handles. But I'm completely out of plastic bags. So is it worth it to go to Haggen because I need plastic bags? I mean, I do get a little bit of a discount because my mom works there. It is still expensive though.. I've gotta weigh the pros and cons. Why can't bellingham just have the plastic bags back? Ugh!!
Here's another topic:
They're trying to find extra money to fix the roads and stuff and one suggestion was to have bikers get license plates and pay annual tan fees like cars. I think that is an excellent idea. With all the bikers we have around here, that would really help. Plus, then the bikers would maybe follow some of the rules of the road instead of being jerks because they would have a plate number to them. I know some people ride bikes to work and stuff as an alternative to having a car because its free, but they are using the road too so they should help pay to fix it. They have bike lanes and everything m, but do they stay in them? No, I have to go all the way into the other lane so I don't hit them. Maybe if we do this where they have plates and tabs, they will also get cited for not following laws. Like not wearing a helmet.. Too many bikers in Bellingham!!
